Born Digital: Understanding the First Generation of Digital Natives | Media and Technology | AlterNet

I have already admitted elsewhere in this blog to being uncomfortable with the concept (or the reasoning) behind the term ‘digital natives.’  Whilst there is a seismic shift occuring in culture, I’m still not convinced that a label like this is helpful in anyway.

This is a review of a book on the subject, and one that definitely skirts the boundaries of the ‘look at the freaks’ school of thought that was my original bugbear about this discussion.  It’s not “us” and “them” people!  We’re all in it together!  Continuum of behaviours, not an either/or dialectic.  But I’d be interested in hearing your thoughts.  Lines are open, callers!
